We have a 6 month contract opportunity for a BI Analyst. This role must work onsite in the Sacramento area 2 days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday).

This is a backfill position which supports keep the lights on activities for BI Platforms in addition to designing and implementing solutions for operations and projects. Tableau, SAS, Power BI, Databricks, Epic etc. experience required.

Summary

Provides architectural and technical guidance to product development in order to better ensure sound engineering design, process, and quality practices are followed. Oversees software, hardware and infrastructure design. The position may include ownership of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), continual integration process and tools, to deliver finished, high quality, and compelling products.. Is responsible for organizational balance and system coherency between build/buy scenarios requiring a flexible architecture for internal development and application integration.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

STRATEGIC & TACTICAL PLANNING:

  • Interface with representatives from business, clinical, IS, and research groups regarding requirements and the delivery of solutions.

  • Work closely with leadership teams to define product direction.

  • Develop, maintain, and own the technical product roadmap.

  • Develop and evolve policies and procedures related to security and support operations.

  • Create engineering processes, SDLC process, system and tool evaluation, and operation processes to ensure reproducible and high quality development while maintaining control overcosts.

TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT:

  • Drive overall architecture, design, build, security, and certification of software, hardware and infrastructure products.

  • Oversee technical direction and strategy for all components of applications and systems including setting established service levels.

  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) role for solutions, managing escalated production issues with internal development teams and vendors.

  • Stay informed on emerging products, services, trends, development methodologies, and standards available to support interfaces, APIs, service bus, mobile solutions, enterprise applications, web portals, and information management.

  • Define and manage SDLC and Continual Integration processes, where applicable.

  • Suggest recommendations to emerging technologies or standards to improve services.

  • Engage in hands-on, in-depth analysis, review, and design of the software including technical review and analysis of the source code as well as review in-house developed code and technologies provided by third party vendors.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:

  • Develop and execute software, hardware and infrastructure engineering plans while managing engineering schedules, resource allocation, and budget.

  • Ensure effective deployment of skills and other resources are utilized to enhance agility, flexibility, and cost effectiveness in response to business needs.

  • Promote and enforce compliance to established methodologies and eff orts that support overall resource and capacity management.

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's: Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fi eld

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

5 years of recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Extensive knowledge and experience with industry development languages and frameworks.

Working knowledge of networking architecture and other protocols.

Working knowledge of secure coding practices, thread modeling, and vulnerability assessments.

Proficient knowledge of object-oriented programming, client/server, scripting, portal

technology, web architecture and development.

Extensive knowledge of designing, developing, and implementing large-scale system projects.

Perform effectively in environments with frequent and fluctuating workload changes, competing demands, and frequent interruptions and/or distractions.

Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.

Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures in order to identify patterns, tendencies, and relationships resulting in the formulation of logical and objective conclusions.

Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with audiences across all areas and levels within the company as well as external organizations.

Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
