The Sherwin-Williams Company Master Mechanic - 3rd Shift in Massillon, Ohio

The Maintenance Master Technician is accountable to perform routine and preventative maintenance on plant facility and equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical power. These duties are to be performed in accordance with all safety rules including the wearing of proper Personal Protective Equipment. Maintenance activities include but are not limited to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical work. All duties are to be performed in accordance with all safety rules including site safety permitting and the use of any and all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a respirator, that may be required for job tasks. Additional Information: 3rd Shift - Sunday - Thursday 10:30PM - 7:00AM Performs assigned tasks in accordance with all site and industry safety requirements. Demonstrates the ability to adhere to all safety rules. Utilizes various hand and power tools to maintain and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment. Independently troubleshoot high voltage and low voltage electrical components and use of tools such as megger, voltmeter, AMP clamp to trouble shoot components such as contactors, relays etc. Working ability to troubleshoot PLC's and correlate drawings/schematics for programmable logic controls (PLC) to the devices in the field such as proximity switches, encoders, etc. Independently determines root causes for breakdowns or malfunctions and methods to correct. Ability to read and understand pneumatic drawings and symbols and correlate prints to devices in the field. Replaces equipment components such as pumps, valves, pipes, hoses, belts, bearings, conveyors, electrical items, etc. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and maintenance projects on plant equipment. Maintains spare parts and supplies in proper storage locations. Obtain parts and supplies as assigned. Responsible to keep work and shop areas clean and orderly. Keep tools in good repair. May perform non-technical / general facility maintenance. Provides preventative and predictive maintenance and repair of material handling and filling systems through demonstrated competency. Have a working knowledge of pumps used in chemical facilities. How they function, how to trouble shoot, and how to properly rebuild pumps as needed. Ability to diagnose a power transmission failure by determining which component has failed, such as motor failure, gearbox failure, or possible locked up pulley or roller. Ability to weld with MIG or stick in multiple positions. Fabricate basic parts such as guards or brackets. Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of process pumps such as AOD, positive displacement rotary vein, centrifugal, gear and metering pumps. Minimum Requirements: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future Must have an associate degree or higher or at least two (2) years of experience working as a mechanic in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment Must have two (2) years of work experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment Must have an industrial, electrical, and/or welding certification or license Preferred Qualifications: At least have five (5) years of maintenance experience in a Chemical Industrial work environment.
