GENERAL FUNCTION

The Team Vision Claims Coordinator is responsible for the billing and cash collection of all routine vision claims. The coordinator processes claims within various insurance portals within timely filing limits and reviews denials on EOBs to fix and resubmit claims, maximizing cash collection. This position requires significant team interaction and strong analytical / critical thinking skills.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process routine vision claims in various insurance portals.

  • Review EOBs for routine vision denials, fix and resubmit in the portal. If a paper claim is denied, send corrections to corporate for resubmission.

  • Coordinate daily activities to ensure KPIs are met or exceeded

  • Identify and communicate issues to the manager.

  • Ensure claims are entered in compliance with customer requirements and HIPAA guidelines and regulations, while staying within billing department processes and guidelines

  • Work with clients to determine any special plan requirements

  • Identify and implement process improvements after manager approval.

  • Assist Manager as needed with special projects and training.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma

  • 3+ years’ experience processing Claims

  • Able to quickly grasp and retain information and concepts

  • Able to multi-task and prioritize handling of issues

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written

  • Strong analytical skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of vision and /or insurance benefits

  • Knowledge or experience in claims processing

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel application

  • Bachelor’s degree

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
