Actalent Development Engineer in Maryland Heights, Missouri

Description:

Participate in planning, scheduling, execution, and documentation of new process development and process transfer experiments.

Support life cycle management as a laboratory resource, as needed.

Independently operate in the R&D laboratory and commercial manufacturing areas, following all local SOPs and safety guidelines.

This role has responsibility for adding additional techniques to their expertise that provide back-up capability for the R&D organization. These techniques will mirror those being implemented in the commercial manufacturing area.

Contribute to the authoring of protocols and reports for assigned projects or tasks.

Ability to multi-task in an environment of competing priorities, and to reach out to management with alternate plans and options, when necessary.

Work with a variety of compounds including liquids, gases, and solids of radioactive and non-radioactive materials.

Experience with electroplating (electrochemistry) or column chromotography (absorption column chromotorgaphy, partition column chromotorgaphy, gel column chromotorgaphy, and ion-exchange column chromotorgaphy)

Primarily communicates with R&D and new product development team

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or related field is preferred. (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering will work best)

3-5 years of experience in the industry

Three or more years of relevant industry experience is required.

Pharmaceutical manufacturing development (small / large / biological) experience required, and radiopharmaceutical experience highly preferred.

Strong organizational skills, including ability to work independently, and as the member of the R&D team.

Behavioral requirements for success in this position include: self-starter, drive for results, and integrity and trust.

Excellent verbal communication skills required.

Excellent contemporaneous documentation on batch records and protocols is required.

The successful candidate must have the ability to support and contribute to team based investigations, which may involve working on second or third shift.
