Eastman Quality Control Manager in Martinsville, Virginia

Responsibilities

  • Executing projects in a safe manner and be persistent in follow-up to correct known safety problems.

  • Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Technology, Commercial/Business and other functional partners to resolve quality issues with a sense of urgency.

  • Lead and participate in internal audits as well as host customer and vendor audits.

  • Work with functional partners to assure quality meets customer requirements on shipments of assigned products.

  • Lead and resolve root causes and eliminate that potential cause for the future.

  • Work with Analytical Services on use of qualitative procedures for root cause analyses.

  • Lead Customer Complaint investigation teams.

  • Troubleshoot and identify root cause of customer complaints and manufacturing quality problems, in collaboration with Customer Facing teams and manufacturing teams respectively.

  • Leverage statistical methods and empirical or other models to analyze results.

  • Communicate results, conclusions and recommendations to internal and external audiences.

  • Keep others informed of your work (Monthly Reports, Project Reviews, etc.).

  • Cultivate an open and friendly environment to encourage trust and teamwork where employees are focused on continuous improvement.

  • Develop team members who can work with minimal guidance commensurate with the abilities, experiences, and performance.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or other technical degree.

  • Certified Lead Auditor is preferred.

  • Proven knowledge and understanding of analytical techniques is required.

  • At least 3 years of experience managing quality management systems and a quality control lab is required; 5+ years is a plus.

  • Excellent internal/external communication skills (written/oral).

  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) trained and experience.

  • Operational Excellence and Six Sigma knowledge is beneficial.
