Diocese of Marquette Cemetery Groundskeeper in Marquette, Michigan
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
HOURS: Flexible schedule, up to 30 hours/week, some winter work available
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Cemeteries, Diocese of Marquette
PURPOSE: The cemetery/groundskeeper provides for the care of the grounds, grave-sites and mausoleum at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ¨ Mowing grass with the use of hand and riding mower and weed whip ¨ Trimming overgrown trees and bushes as needed ¨ Removing items no longer fit for display at grave-sites ¨ Removing trash from cemetery ¨ Maintaining the Mausoleums ¨ Care of landscaping, including tree and bush trimming ¨ Care of lawns at all cemetery buildings ¨ Repair and perform preventative maintenance on all grounds equipment ¨ Preparing graves for burials, including digging and landscaping ¨ Other duties as may be assigned by the Director
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: ¨ Knowledge of grounds equipment operation ¨ Repair skills for minor equipment ¨ Ability to organize, schedule and arrange priorities ¨ Self-motivated and able to work independently ¨ High school graduate ¨ Good communication skills
