About the Role
Supervise and provide guidance to Production Lead Hands and Operators to ensure that all production and quality requirements are met using minimum resources, while maintaining a safe, healthy and clean working environment.
Your Responsibilities
Exercise supervisory control and direction over the Companys day to day Production activities
Set production targets and implement production schedule by allocating work to employees in the most efficient and effective way possible
Ensure that Lead Hands are creating the standardized work balance charts time recording sheets combination table and standardized work sheets
Ensure that Lead Hands are performing the training for all Operators based on standardized work instructions
Ensure that Lead Hands are continuously reviewing and updating the standardized work Instructions via auditing the standardized work
Ensure that standardized work instructions and control cards are followed Daily Audits and that lead hands have received the proper training with regard to work instructions control cards quality and safety procedures
Ensure that production Lead Hands update live team boards Production Boards and also ensuring that team members fully understand goals and targets
Assist in driving Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives
Ensure that safe working procedures and good housekeeping practices are adhered to at all times
Exercise supervisory control over plant personnel and provide guidance and assistance to them in nonroutine problems and complaints within the scope of the Charter of Rights and the Employee Handbook
Promptly notify immediate Team Leader Supervisor or Manager for products or processes which do not conform to requirements
Responsible for ensuring product quality and authorized to stop production to correct quality problems
Ensure proper containment procedures are being followed for suspect material throughout the plant
Ensure that plant efficiency is maintained at the highest possible level without sacrificing safety quality and plant standards Production Boards have to be monitored every hour
Ensure that shift production and related reports are processed accurately
Responsible for ensuring the setup and changeover of machines are completed to meet the production schedule
Responsible for ensuring that all parts are produced to meet all quality requirements and standards according to customer requirements
Coach train develop and inspire the production staff in order to ensure that all related production activities are covered
Review work performance of plant personnel and make recommendations regarding future work assignments monitor control and coordinate all training activities in department
Ensure that all employees concerns are handled in a timely and constructive manner in accordance with applicable company policies Keep a record of concerns for each employee to establish continuous feedback
Daily maintenance of employee attendance in WFN Ensure adequate vacation planning in WFN not to exceed 10 of shift headcount without interrupting production
Control working hours and overtime of employees within Production area through WFN system ensures attendance is monitored and approves vacations floaters birthdays etc through WFN
Follow up with workers who are absent without a reason
Ensure employee and all temporary hours are recorded accurately and submitted to payroll in a timely manner
Manage communication files for all assigned employees
Ensures operators have updated training records for Equipment and Program specific criteria
Identify training needs on the annual performance evaluations
Address employee suggestions as required and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Responsible for performance management of the plant personnel through timely performance appraisals training effective discipline timely feedback to concerns and or questions and managing the Employee Charter
Who we are looking for
Grade 12 or equivalent with minimum 2 years manufacturing experience in a Team Lead role
Must be able to communicate fluently in English (both written and spoken)
Must be a self-starter and effective listener
Strong leadership skills are a must with the ability to make sound decisions
Basic SPC knowledge
Computer literate, including Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Must possess good interpersonal skills and be results oriented
Must be able to provide clear direction
Highly creative with the ability to generate ideas
Must be detail oriented with strong planning and organizing skills
Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team
Must be able and willing to work overtime as necessary including weekends when required
