What you will do

The Senior Manager, Project & Portfolio Management is responsible for the franchise project governance process for all product related projects. Leads the team that delivers new product introductions on time as well as life cycle management projects in a way that preserves business continuity. This individual will also lead major & complex projects such as resites, divestitures, acquisitions, product reformulations or large scale graphics updates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the new product governance meeting for the assigned franchises.

  • Collaborate with commercial partners in marketing and sales in the project idea evaluation stage.

  • Ensure the project management process is executed within established global governance processes.

  • Provide ongoing and frequent project updates to senior leadership. Identify and resolve project risks as the need arises.

  • Lead critical projects with a large impact to the business including major NPD projects, divestitures, acquisitions, reformulations, resites and large scale compliance related graphics updates.

  • Present complex supply chain projects to the governance committee for approval.

  • Make trigger event recommendations to management and drive towards an action plan.

  • Challenge volume, pricing strategy and cost elements in order to meet or exceed gross profit targets.

  • Establish & maintain important US and global project management contacts for the franchise.

Qualifications

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years progressive multi-functional experience in key new product functions such as Engineering, R&D, Marketing, Sales, Finance or Supply Chain.

  • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in project management and/or managing and developing people.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Able to motivate a team of independent project managers to get results.

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Results & performance driven with a bias for action and sense of urgency on priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration proficiencies. Solid ability to nurture strong business relationships across a complex global organization.

  • Proven strategic mindset: looks for areas of improvement to create growth, improve financial performance and gain competitive advantage.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in launching new products or leading major projects in a GMP and regulated environment

  • Experience in the consumer packaged goods or pharmaceutical industry

  • PMP certification an asset

  • Post graduate degree an asset
