Philips Paralegal in Markham, Ontario


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Support all of Philips’ Canadian operations, including all our corporate functions, our health systems business and our consumer product division (Sonicare, Avent, grooming products, etc.).

You are responsible for

  • Corporate governance - minute books, resolutions, registrations, signing authorities, filings;

  • Litigation and claims management – with the support of external counsel;

  • Immigration law support – with the support of external counsel;

  • Commercial contract review, drafting and negotiations;

  • Review and approval of marketing, advertising and product packaging;

  • Compliance investigation support;

  • Development and roll out of legal & compliance training; and

  • Legal and compliance research & advice;

  • Ad hoc administrative support for the Legal & Compliance department.

You are a part of

The Legal teamReporting to the Philips Canada General Counsel & Compliance Officer.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • College or undergraduate degree in the legal field such as: Law Clerk certificate, Paralegal diploma or law degree from a Canadian or foreign jurisdiction

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience (in house experience preferred)

  • Bilingualism (French/English) is a plus

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)

  • Excellent time-management, organizational, and prioritization skills

  • Resourceful, strong work ethic, independent and fast learning disposition

  • The position will be largely be a work-from-home position, with the occasional requirement to meet in person at our Philips Canada Corporate head office in the Greater Toronto Area.
