Job Description

Turner & Townsend  is looking for a Project Director to join our life sciences team in Marietta, PA. This individual will be leading a $500M+ construction program. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering like projects successfully.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds and leads the project team in charge of the design, procurement, construction, qualification, hand-over and close-out of new and or upgraded pharmaceutical production, offices, warehouses, labs facilities and ensures that the project is delivered successfully.

  • Develops the project execution plan and selects the project delivery strategy (PEP) and procurement strategy (Procurement Project Register) according to the Project Management Framework.

  • Ensure an effective project control strategy according PMF (Project Management Framework) is implemented for scheduling, cost/forecasting, change control management, physical progress/ productivity measurement, invoicing, resource management, documents management.

  • Manage client expectations and ensure that the client's interests and vision are executed on the project.

  • Responsible for the quality and delivery of the project

  • Attending client interviews to present our service offerings.

  • Provide weekly and monthly updates regarding the status of projects, initiatives, and staffing, and where appropriate, highlighting issues of concern, and/or conflict.

  • Provide effective line management for the staff members assigned to you including coaching and mentoring as necessary to assist them in achieving professional and career growth objectives.

  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients and drive the client diversification agenda.

  • Prepare and deliver client presentations on topics of relevant experience and knowledge and/or partner with other team members to generate new business.

  • Liaison with municipal authorities for permitting process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (M.S. or MBA preferred).

  • Minimum of (15) years of demonstrated capital project/program leadership experience.

  • Experience managing an integrated team on large complex and multi-phase capital projects/programs consisting of multiple project elements.

  • Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods.

  • Proven track record of leading projects/programs of $500 million or greater.

  • Demonstrated experience providing leadership of a team in an integrated project delivery organization.

  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts as part of a multi-billion-dollar project/program.

  • Proven track record of following through on commitments.

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering major capital projects/programs successfully (on budget, on time, meeting safety and quality standards within approved scope).

  • Proven track record of partnering and issues resolution.

  • Demonstrated excellent communications, presentation and written skills.
