$33,760.00 - $37,135.96 Annually $1,298.46 - $1,428.91 Bi-weekly

Position Summary

This is work procuring, checking quality, preparation, and issuing food at Sunland Food Service Department.

The Work You Will Do

Cook all foods to proper temperature and chart it on temperature chart. Ensure all food is appealing and appetizing. Ensure texture and consistencies are correct before issuing to serving line. All duties and responsibilities required to prepare food to be served at Sunland.

Check in all food to ensure proper amount of food has been issued according to production sheet at the beginning of each meal. Check and approve quality of product before cooking or preparing. Checking in and out knives on chart in supervisor’s office.

Ensures work area is clean and always sanitized. Hair control nets must be worn at all times; hand washing, and gloves used frequently as required on a daily and ongoing basis.

Make daily inventory checks to make sure you have what you need for the menus following day according to production sheets. Anything you need to order must be charted at bottom of menu. Chart leftovers at bottom of menu and on left over chart with the amount, date, meal, and time.

Exhibits a positive work attitude in working with all people, residents, co-workers, management, and community on a daily and ongoing basis. This includes completing all assigned staff training deemed mandatory on a daily and ongoing basis.

Performs other related duties as required.

Maintain timesheet, ensuring accuracy and submit timely in accordance with policy and procedure.

Completes all required training.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Food service experience preferred, but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic.

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.

  • Ability to prepare various reports related to food procurement and control.

  • Ability to review food items for appropriate quality and quantity.

  • Ability to conduct inventory checks of food items and order items as needed.

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

Background Screening Requirement

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
