The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Technical Product Engineer Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
New Product Introduction (NPI) Support: Lead the collaboration with product development teams to ensure smooth transition of new products from development to market. Provide technical support during the launch phase, including validation, testing, and customer feedback integration.
Technical Support: Provide expert-level technical support for Personal Auto products, specifically Paint Protection Films or Auto Window Films, addressing complex customer inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and resolving product-related problems.
Product Performance Analysis: Lead the analysis of product performance data, identify trends, and recommend strategic improvements to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Documentation: Oversee the maintenance of detailed records of support activities, including customer interactions, problem resolutions, and product performance metrics.
Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to address product issues and implement corrective actions.
Feedback Loop: Gather and analyze customer feedback on new products, and work with development teams to implement necessary improvements and enhancements.
Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD (completed and verified prior to start) in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or similar from an accredited institution
Seven (7) years of product engineering/product specialist/product development in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Project Management Experience: Proven experience in managing technical projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring. Ability to lead cross-functional project teams and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Prioritization Skills: Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that critical deadlines are met without compromising quality.
Advanced Experience/ Skills in relevant market, former positions e. g. experience in a product support or technical support role, preferably within the Personal Auto or Graphics industry.
Technical Expertise and Problem-Solving: Proficiency in diagnostic tools, data analysis software, and familiarity with relevant industry standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of resolving complex technical issues.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely. Strong communication with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers or suppliers.
Teamwork and Leadership: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
