Here, you will make an impact by:Designing and developing new functionalized surfaces and/or coatings polymeric materials to enhance inkjet ink performance.Characterize and optimize interaction with inkjet ink chemistries.Broaden understanding or incorporate new analytical/characterization tools.Performing literature and patent searches, scout for new materials and actively identify intellectual property and patentable inventions.Working in a global, team environment.Other duties as assigned.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Possess or in the final year of Ph.D. in a science or engineering discipline (verified prior to start) from an accredited universityCurrent cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on 4.0 scaleAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Material Science, or Polymer Chemistry with one or more of the following:Synthesis and/or characterization of polymersInkjet ink characterizationPolymer surfaces and interfacesDemonstrated scientific excellence as evidenced by publications and presentationsHands on, self-starter orientationBroad interests and willingness to explore new areasDemonstrated leadership skills in a private, public, government or military environmentWritten and oral communication skillsWork location:Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work on site or hybrid)Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: May be authorized.Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
