Fairview Health Services Medical Assistant- Neurology in Maplewood, Minnesota

Overview

M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to join our team at the Maplewood Neurology Clinic! Join M Health Fairview, the largest healthcare system in the state. The M Health Fairview Woodwinds Neurology Clinic is a growing, interdisciplinary and collaborative clinic, which has been in the East Metro Community for over 30 years. The Neurology Clinic sees mainly adults, but also sees some pediatric patients. We do multiple procedures here, and our MA's have the opportunity to work hand in hand with our providers in a 1:1 ratio model. This allows for developing close relationships with both providers and patients. Our clinic has a mixture of physicians, as well as Advanced Practice Providers. Our clinic hours are 7am to 5pm daily, with no evenings, second or third shifts, weekends, or holidays. This provides an excellent work life balance!

This position is eligible for a $4000 Sign On Bonus!!

This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period) opening.

Shift times will be 7:30am to 4pm or 8am to 5pm.

Responsibilities Job Description

As a member of the patients care team, a Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high standard functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The Medical Assistant will collect information and detail the patient's visit. MA's are responsible for adhering to policies, procedures and practice guidelines; promoting communication with all members of the team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.

Medical Assistants deliver care as delegated by the patients Physicians, or RN. They are able to prioritize work based on need, available resources, patient preferences, provider schedule, and work in collaboration with the physician/authorized practitioner as well as other health care team members. You may also perform high, and low risk, technical procedures during your daily work which could include: medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures which may include lab draws

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN

  • Basic Life Support Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ambulatory Care Experience

  • AAMA Certification
