As a Global Income Tax Accounting Senior Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Analyzing and educating key stakeholders on drivers of 3M’s effective tax rate and cash tax in a dynamic environment
Providing insight and guidance proactively to stakeholders on ASC 740 income tax accounting
Applying in-depth tax technical expertise to validate global income tax reporting inputs
Researching, analyzing, and documenting the ASC 740 reporting impacts of complex business transactions.
Monitoring updates in global tax legislation to assess their impact on financials.
Actively engaging with stakeholders in different disciplines, including FP&A, Treasury, Controllers, and Investor Relations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of 3M income tax reporting in its financial statements and press releases
Developing forecast models for effective tax rate and cash tax projections.
Researching, analyzing, and interpreting existing and proposed guidance with respect to income tax accounting, and identifying the practical implications for the company
Collaborating with external auditors to ensure compliant income tax reporting and efficient financial statement close and SOX control processes
Supervising and effectively coaching staff, training on key tax and ASC 740 concepts
Driving prioritization and process improvements in tax accounting
Partnering with global tax and company personnel on special projects, as needed, expanding your network in and out of tax
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Ten (10) years’ experience in income tax in a public accounting firm or large, multi-entity corporation and key tax laws and regulations impacting multi-national corporations in public, private or military environment.
Three (3) years’ experience in ASC 740 Income tax accounting.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Proficient in use of OneSource Tax Provision software
Proficient in use of Microsoft Applications
Work location:
- Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $207,348 - $253,425, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
