Crops/Commodities: Trees/Shrubs. Plant, transplant, prune, thin, cultivate, dig and move flowering and ornamental plants, shrubs and trees by hand, using hand tools and mechanical equipment. Operate tractors with clutches and hydrostatic gears, pole saws, weed eaters, chain saws, hand clippers and shears, pole pruners, loppers, and other tools and equipment to cultivate and harvest plants, shrubs and trees. Spray pesticides, herbicides, weed, apply fertilizer, water, transplant, pot and label plants, shrubs and trees. Identify proper variety and growth stage of cuttings for propagation. Take, prepare and place cuttings for propagation. Cut and transplant seedlings, trees and shrubs. Inspect plants to assess quality. Prune, stake, tie and trim plants, shrubs and trees into forms according to individual varietal needs using hand tools. Cultivation of the large tree varieties involves the use of ladders and lifts. Tag, tie, and prepare plants for digging and before bare rooting. Dig shrubs and trees using shovels, other hand tools and nursery equipment including skid steer loaders, articulating loaders, dump trucks and mechanical diggers. Wrap root balls of trees with burlap, tie, and load. Harvest bare root plants, prune and load. Tie, drag, lift, stack and load bare root and potted plants, shrubs and trees onto vans, trailers and trucks. Move containerized & balled and burlaped shrubs, plants, trees and plant material by hand or using carts, wheelbarrows or tractors with clutches. Install, maintain, regulate and repair irrigation and climate control systems including inspection, adjusting and replacing micro irrigation tubes and emitters. Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, pine bark media and other materials to condition soil using wheelbarrows or carts, shovels and tractors with clutches. Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping. Repair and service equipment along with hand tools. Workers with a valid license and doctor\'s certificate may transport other workers in vehicles provided and insured by the employer and be offered additional hours. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker\'s ability to perform the job. Persons seeking employment in this position must be available for the entire period requested by the employer, and work required hours/day. Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for a safe working environment. Wear assigned worker protective gear as directed. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker\'s Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. Workers will have an unpaid lunch break. TERMINATION. Prior to any termination for cause, employer evaluates workers\' performance of required tasks and compliance with Work Rules and other employer policies. Employer may terminate a worker for cause if the worker\'s performance consistently and/or substantially fails to satisfy the employer\'s reasonable expectations (in accordance with the criteria set forth herein), or otherwise engages in serious or egregious misconduct that endangers health, safety, or property.
