About the role: This is an opportunity to be part of a team that designs custom equipment/software solutions for R&D, process development and manufacturing needs at Boston Scientific.Use your knowledge and passion for automation, manufacturing, and medical devices to help shape the needs of BSC and the medical device industry. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of an on-site team of talented engineers and automation specialists who create and support automated solutions for our manufacturing and new product development customers. You will support the development, implementation, and support of automated equipment and software systems for medical device manufacturing. This role has a hands-on approach in equipment development including automation and controls design, electro-mechanical systems, industrial and collaborative robots, and computer hardware and software support. This enables us to support and develop a wide range of legacy and new technology solutions across the full spectrum of manufacturing capability from high volume automation to low volume manual assembly. Your responsibilities include: Work in a cross functional team to provide software solutions for manufacturing, PD and R&D equipment for our Maple Grove Operations team. Cross functional teams are typically Operations, Process Development, R&D and all function within Equipment Engineering team. Design, develop, debug, and deploy desktop and web-based applications that automate Boston Scientific's manufacturing processes to meet specific requirements. Develop and deploy software solutions using frameworks such as VB.NET, .NET CORE, C#. Perform unit testing, validation testing, and integration testing of developed software. Create and maintain high quality documents to provide technical, user and validation documentation for software solutions. Work with production teams to understand their processes and recommend solutions to solve their problems and improve process efficiency and quality. Place strong emphasis on customer focus by providing timely support of production issues. Deploy software packages to production and provide follow up training, support, and upgrade. Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel. May lead projects within the function or department and/or represents a specialized field in larger project teams. Influences middle management on business solutions. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field of study 3-5 Years of relevant work experience Preferred Qualification 10-15 Years of relevant work experience Experience in developing and deploying manufacturing equipment in the medical device industry Strong understanding of computer science principles, including software architecture, database management systems, and relevant programming languages Experience in the administration and deployment of source code repositories including TFS and GIT Experience in Object-Oriented Programming and design methodology Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate user requirements into technical implementation Knowledge of multiple programming languages, frameworks, database, and operating systems (C#/.NET, .NET Core, WPF, SQL Server, MongoDB) and communication protocols for data transfer between PC and hardware devices (Serial, USB, Ethernet, etc.) Experie ce integrating vision-based AI with manufacturing equipment and manufacturing execution systems Experience with full stack web-based application development using different frameworks (Asp .NET, JavaScript, Python, etc.) Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, and cloud-based server application development Technical project leader experience Experience mentoring junior technical teams Requisition ID:577863 Among other requirements, Boston Scientific maintains specific prohibited substancetesting requirements for safety-sensitive positions.
