About this role The Project Manager will be responsible for the top-level leadership of the Operations portion of new product development projects, Commercial Product Margin Improvement projects, site transfers and other Maple Grove manufacturing or corporate project initiatives.Ultimately, the Project Manager is responsible for the seamless transition of products from R&D into manufacturing. Project size will range from small one-off tasks to large programs and line extension activities. Multiple projects of various sizes will be handled simultaneously by the PM.Cross functional operations team members will be led by the Project Manager. Work Mode At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office in Maple Grove, MN at least three days per week. Key Responsibilities Identify the Operations resources required for assigned project activities and form teams as required to complete the activities Identify and coordinate all activities required to complete the project or task through the team and ensure its timely completion Ensure manufacturability of products transferred into production through use of the standardized new product tools Identify issues that may affect quality, cost, or service levels early within the project and work with the team to resolve prior to transition into commercialization Lead team effectively ensuring good cross-functional communications and provide input to cross-functional Core team members and Core Team Leaders Generate high-level plans and schedules on larger projects Assess business risk and prioritize tasks among many activities as multiple projects will be assigned Identify, communicate, and manage technical risk Delegate and manage tasks among team members as appropriate to their skill level and risk to the project Ability to elevate issues and clear barriers to team progress will be tantamount to success in this role Work well with a large continuum of team members (e.g. very junior engineers to fellow-level engineers) Make occasional presentations to upper management Required Qualifications 5-7 years engineering or operations leadership experience (manufacturing, process development or related) Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering or a technical field Strong organization and execution skills will be required, as well as a demonstrated ability to confidently handle the top responsibility for project completion Ability to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally Preferred Qualifications and Competencies 3+ years of relevant project management experience in Operations or Development either leading projects or as a team member leading significant segments of projects Experience in both pre-launch and post-launch product support activities preferred. Ability to quickly learn about new products and new technologies Manufacturing experience desired including familiarity with new product tools such as Contract Terms and Conditions, Design Capability Matrices (PpK/CpK), Capital approvals, Cost Models and Capacity Planning.
