Martin Marietta Materials Parts Department Manager in Maple Grove, Minnesota

What to expect: The role of the Parts Department Manager is to assist in the day-to-day operation of the Parts Department. This person will be responsible for overseeing the Parts team. They will ensure that the overall objectives of the department are met. This includes assuring parts and materials get to their locations, formulating the objectives, plans and procedures for the Parts Department and using lean methodologies to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient Parts Department. As the Parts Department Manager a day in the life might include: * Working cross functionally to develop and implement processes to manage inventory and reduce variances. * Working with other Asset Maintenance Managers to help drive down maintenance costs and optimize equipment down time from a parts perspective. * Develop a critical spare parts list, min/max levels and re-order points for high demand parts. * Working with customers to anticipate their parts needs while maintaining the highest quality standards. * Taking incoming calls from customers, Sales Representatives, and employees working in the field * Jumping in to assist with pulling orders or necessary warehouse work. This role might be a good fit for you if you: * Have at least 5 years of Parts Department experience, including parts purchasing and supervision of a team. * Understand the full process of the Parts Department * JD Edwards experience a plus! * Are flexible to work additional hours as needed to get the job done. * Are comfortable navigating through different vendor sites and have strong computer skills. * Have an unrestricted driver's license. * Can occasionally pull, lift, push or carry 50lbs.
