Where you'll work:

At our Manitowoc, WI facility we are part of the Smoke and Grill Division and creates liquid smoke flavors for some of your favorite BBQ sauces, dry rubs, and many other foods!

We have an immediate opening for a Day shift Electrician!

You'll work 6:00AM - 6:00PM 4 on, 4 off schedule!

What you'll do:

As an Electrician, youre our go-to person for electrical maintenance. When youre on the job, you can expect a to-do list that includes projects likepiping system installation and troubleshooting unforeseen electrical maintenance repairs in a timely fashion.

Important areas of operations youll work on (but are not limited to):

  • Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

  • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

  • Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs, and to ensure compliance with codes.

  • Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.

  • Prepares sketches or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.

  • Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on specifications and codes.

  • Cleans breaker panels and ensure objects are not placed in front of them.

Non-Essential Job Functions

Completion of required paperwork.

Fabricates mounting brackets for electrical equipment.

Covers for Maintenance on weekends when possible.

Assist in production when needed.

Report any unsafe or unusual conditions immediately to your supervisor.

Report any damage found or caused to equipment, structures, etc., immediately to your supervisor.

Follow all conduct rules and regulations of Red Arrow. Follow and practice all safety rules and regulations. Follow all Good Housekeeping Practices Guidelines as outlined by company policy.

What you'll need to be successful and safe:

  • Have completed a State Licensed Journeyman Apprenticeship Program or the ability to complete or reasonable equivalent.

Must have a valid drivers license.

3-5 years of industrial electrical experience preferred.

Knowledge of electrical functions.

Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

Employee is scheduled for a twelve (12) hour shift, four (4) days on four (4) days off.

Exposed to noise levels in the work environment which can be loud and require wearing hearing protection.

May occasionally work in poorly illuminated or awkward and confining workspace.

Occasionally exposed to air contamination such as, dust, smoke, or disagreeable/strong odors.

Regularly works indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment where temperatures can reach above 90.

May occasionally work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Working Relationship with Others

This position requires frequent verbal and written communication with Lead Electrician and other plant employees.

Travel Required

Occasional travel required between Red Arrow facilities in Manitowoc.

Employee must wear the proper personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hard hat, safety boots, and hearing protection. Occasionally required to wear arc flash equipment.
