The New Jewish Home Stock Clerk, part time, 15 hours per week in Manhattan SNF - New York, New York
The Environmental Services on the Manhattan campus is seeking a part time, 15 hours per week, temporary Stock Clerk to join our team. This position will work in 120 West 106th Street, NY, NY 10025.
Job Summary:
Receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, foodstuff, or tools, and compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard by performing the following duties.
Reports To: Material/Management Manager
Duties & Responsibilities:
Counts, sorts, or weights incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.
Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
Stores articles in bins, on floors, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
Fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock.
Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.
Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
Make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock.
Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height, and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
Cuts stock to size to fill order.
Moves or transports materials or supplies to other departments.
Maintains inventory and other stock records.
Transports, exchanges oxygen tanks and other respiratory type equipment to various areas of the institution.
Fills in receiving area (see receiving supervisor job description).

Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. or job related skills per previous job experiences.
Ability to read, write, speak English fluently.
Ability to satisfactorily complete an ongoing orientation program.
Ability to lift and maneuver types of equipment and material of varying weights and sizes.
Ability to perform fundamental repairs and maintenance of equipment to his/her everyday job function.
