The Executive Director of Student Health and Counseling & Psychological Services

\ \ About This Role\ \ Responsibilities\ \ The successful Executive Director of Student Health and Counseling & Psychological Services will:\ \ Strategic Leadership & Administrative Support\ \ Provide the vision, leadership and overall delivery of integrated, comprehensive, and quality mental and physical health services. Direct areas of responsibility include Lafene Health Center and Counseling & Psychological Services. Additionally, works closely with and provides administrative support for the Morrison Family Center for Student Well-being and Cats\' Cupboard.\ Oversee the Infectious Disease Advisory Committee (IDAC) and Lafene Health Center\'s response to infectious disease threats.\ Develop and implement mental and physical health data collection resources for all areas. Use data to assess and report outcomes related to the quality of programs and services. Ensure efficient use of institutional resources and the positive impact on student health. Cultivate and lead a culture of data-driven decision-making.\ Maintain operational policies, protocols, procedures, and processes for all areas within student health and counseling & psychological services that align with policy and accrediting agencies, as well as national, state, and local regulations and agency requirements.\ Provide leadership for the University\'s prevention, outreach, and educational services in the areas of health and counseling & psychological services. Work closely with the Associate Vice President, Division of Academic Success & Student Affairs and University leaders to collaborate on emerging, promising, and best practices.\ Enforce privacy practices, ensuring all regulatory and licensing requirements are being met.\ \ Fiscal Management\ \ Develop, plan, and manage annual budgets for student health and counseling & psychological services in the portfolio. Serves as the leader for cultivating new revenue sources including insurance and third-party billing.\ Develop sound policies for any services that charge fees and ensure that such policies are administered and controlled appropriately. Develop, implement, and monitor all contractual services provided for various services by other university departments, agencies, and companies as required.\ \ Human Resource Management\ \ Responsible for leading and providing oversight of recruitment, training, supervising, developing, and evaluating all staff. Is also responsible for the general administration of all protocols, procedures, and necessary compliance for personnel matters.\ Establish and maintain open channels of communication in the development of an effective and highly performing team. Identify ways to bring out the best in one another including providing timely feedback on performance goals and as a means of improvement. Facilitate a fair and inclusive working environment.\ Assess staffing needs and promote pathways, opportunities, and development for personnel through on-campus and off-campus training, conference attendance, mentoring, on-the-job experiences, etc. Encourage, support, and model a culture of learning and growing while monitoring overall effectiveness and goal accomplishment.\ Report directly to the Associate Vice President for Student Well-being. Serve as an advisor to the Well-being Collaborative and university leadership on issues related to student health and counseling & psychological services.\ \ Facility & Information Management\ \ Work closely with Kansas State University Facilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and effective environment in all physical space assigned and occupied by Lafene Health Center, Counseling & Psychol gical Services and Cats\' Cupboard.\ Direct the development and management of annual replacement and renewal investments, as well as mid-long term capital needs.\ Direct the assessment and planning of all information and technology needs within the portfolio units to include consideration of computers, applications, systems, data storage, etc. as needed.\ \ Communication, Advise & Report\ \ Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for Lafene Health Center and Counseling & Psychological Services with many campus and community stakeholders.\ Represent the department within the Division of Academic Success & Student Affairs (DASSA) and the broader university community; contribute and serve on key university and DASSA committees; assist in the cultivation of advancement opportunities.\ \ Reporting Relationships\ \ Reporting to the Morrison Family Associate Vice President for Student Well-being, the Executive Director of Student Health and Counseling & Psychological Services functions as chief executive officer with overall responsibilities and authority for its operation.
