Job Description

Treats disabilities, injuries and diseases using biomechanical, neurological and rehabilitative approaches in accordance with the referral of licensed physician and registered therapist treatment plan. Maintains complete medical records for each patient. Participates in teaching activities and department program development.

Job Responsibility

  • Administers direct patient care under direct supervision and in accordance with the written and signed prescription of the referring physician and registered therapist treatment plan to ensure patient treatment plan goals.

  • Submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department.

  • Assists in the maintenance of an efficiently functioning department by properly caring for equipment and the economical use of supplies.

  • Participates in teaching activities and department program development.

  • May assist registered therapist with training of students, aides and volunteers.

  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.

Job Qualification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant License in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

  • 1-3 years of technical experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $58,540-$92,650/year
