Pharma Distribution & Logistics Associate Director
PURPOSE
The Pharma Distribution & Logistics Associate Director is responsible to manage the 3rd party distribution and transportation operations for Pharma U.S. operations, including managing the processes and systems supporting inbound shipments to and from distribution centers and / or plants, receipt of goods, customer order picking, and outbound customer shipments, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The candidate will possess strong supply chain management expertise, experience managing operational budgets and key performance indicators to drive cost efficiency and service improvement and ability to cross collaborate with stakeholders at Local, Regional and Global levels, including Order to Cash, Country Supply Chain, Global Business Services, Procurement, Quality. Furthermore, the candidate will focus on optimizing processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership : key contact and subject matter expert for divisional needs for PH distribution services, lead and manage third-party logistics (3PL) operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with pharmaceutical regulations. Responsible for providing internal training;
Budget Management: Develop and oversee the operational budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive cost reduction and service improvement (C-OTIF), responsible of 3PL invoice monitoring and approval;
Process Optimization : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Transportation, Customer Logistics, and Customer Supply Chain, to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs;
Inventory Management : Coordinate inventory receipts, cycle counting, and adjustments, ensuring accuracy in inventory records and effective management of returns, including damaged and obsolete materials;
Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain strong relationships with 3PL providers and internal stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration across all logistics functions;
Compliance Assurance : Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and Bayer directives related to pharmaceutical distribution, including DSCSA requirements and serialization systems;
Performance Monitoring : Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, utilizing data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives;
Network Optimization : continuously assess and optimize the transportation network including assessing warehouse locations, evaluating transportation routes, and implementing data-driven strategies to improve service delivery and inventory management. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities within the supply chain, ensuring proactive measures are in place to mitigate risks;
Standing member and active strategic contributor of the Customer Supply Chain Teams;

WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Multiple years of supply chain, logistics and/or manufacturing experience;
Ability to manage special projects, with a focus on achieving strategic objectives;
Strong digital mindset and knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), SAP and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline operations;
Experience in inventory management practices, including auditing and cycle counting;
Excellent communications, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills;
Fluent English skills both in spoken and written form;
Strong business acumen and financial knowledge;
Courage and driving results in transforming environment;
Customer oriented and manages complexity;
Acts, learns fast and evolves, works in 90-days cycles, applies learnings fast and continually develops.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in business administration and/or supply chain management discipline;
8+ years of supply chain, logistics and/or manufacturing experience;
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry;
Knowledge of pharma DSCSA Requirements, including serialization track and trace systems highly desired.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $138,000.00 to $207,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
