POSITION SUMMARY:

The 2nd shift Punch Laser Operator operates punch/laser machines and produce parts to specification. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet‘s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Machine parts to specifications using documentation presented on routing/drawings and program hard copy.

  • Employ use of inspection methods to ensure the quality of production.

  • Ability to perform entry-level problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to run one or more machine types.

  • Maintains housekeeping and safety standards in work area.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience preferred working in a manufacturing environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Ability to load and run machine.

  • Strong team player and flexible to move from one task to another.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.

  • Read, write clearly, and follow written procedures.

  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints.

  • Knowledge and ability to utilize standard measuring equipment.

  • Basic computer skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to wear proper PPE. Moderate to loud noise conditions

  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs. throughout the shift of work or to other production areas.

  • Ability to perform repetitive work more than 8 hours per day and weekends, when required.
