Role: System Administrator

Location: Manchester UK/hybrid working

As System Administrator you will play a vital role in collaborating on IT infrastructure projects across EMEA and globally. As part of a team, you will design and implement solutions to technology challenges as well as provide 3rd line support across Hologic’s on-premises and cloud-based estate.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain Active Directory

  • Troubleshoot/resolve hardware and software issues with Windows systems as needed

  • Monitor Windows server performance and availability

  • Provide metrics for capacity management purposes

  • Monitor server load and implement load balancing when needed

  • Identify, upgrade, and replace server hardware where appropriate

  • Conduct periodic HA/DR planning exercises

  • Manage and participate in projects as assigned and work with team members across the company to deliver project goals.

  • Resolve assigned trouble tickets and maintain accurate status in Hologic’s ticketing systems

  • Document technical designs and procedures

  • Communicate information through effective written and oral communication

  • Participate in On-Call rotation

Knowledge, skills, and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent is desirable

  • Professional certifications - Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix desirable but not essential

  • Windows Server experience

  • VMware virtualization experience

  • Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to oversee the development and execution of detailed project plans

  • Ability to communicate potentially complex solutions clearly and comprehensively to audiences of varying technical ability and understanding

  • Self-directed and capable of working on several projects and efforts simultaneously
