Amazon is looking for a smart, team-orientated, highly analytical leader to join the Amazon Fresh business.

The role comprises leadership of a high performing team in vendor management, continuously improving our customer proposition, driving category profitability, develop & grow the category and expanding our partnerships with key brands as well as working closely with our supply chain, merchandising, and marketing teams teams to deliver great results. The best candidate will have a broad skill set including strong vendor management and negotiations skills, leadership development, analytical horsepower, excellent business judgment, deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for creating a world class grocery shopping experience for our customers. You must be willing to redefine the status quo in order to improve existing workflows and processes to enhance customer experience.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and guide a team of buyers/ vendor managers for the Amazon Fresh Stores.

• Build strong and sustainable relationships at an senior levels with our vendors. Find creative solutions in negotiations and facilitate discussions in order to drive profitable growth

• Improve the customer experience by further building and inventing our customer proposition and further optimize the basics (category strategy, price, selection, convenience).

• Turn in-depth analysis into strategic insight, present these in convincing figures and turn them into action

• Seek out ways to automate and simplify manual processes in order to improve productivity

• Act as the ‘business owner’ for their categories, managing a full P&L, including; planning, forecasting and driving growth to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals.

• Setting the goals and strategic direction for their vendors and initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader business goals

• Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale within their categories

• Driving negotiations and representing Amazon when meeting with senior leaders

• Have a thorough understanding of seasonality and global trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams that support business needs, including marketing, merchandising and in-stock, to ensure processes are in place for flawless execution, while meeting tight deadlines.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management

  • Experience using data to influence business decisions

  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
