Lanzen, Inc. Janitorial/Maintenance - Mancelona in Mancelona, Michigan

Employee is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the facility to ensure a clean, safe, and functional environment. This includes routine cleaning tasks, minor repairs, and general maintenance work. The position may also involve monitoring supplies and reporting larger maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Sanitizing:

    • Sweep, mop, vacuum floors.
    • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and fixtures.
    • Empty and dispose of trash and recycling.
    • Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
    • Dust furniture, equipment, and surfaces.
  • General Maintenance:

    • Perform minor repairs, such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, or unclogging drains.
    • Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, ensuring proper ventilation and temperature control.
    • Identify and report larger repair needs to supervisors or relevant personnel.
  • Supplies and Equipment Management:

    • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
    • Maintain and operate cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, buffers, floor scrubbers).
    • Report when cleaning products or maintenance tools need replenishing.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Follow established health and safety guidelines.
    • Use cleaning agents and equipment responsibly to avoid hazards.
    • Ensure that all chemicals are properly stored and labeled.
    • Maintain safety signage when cleaning or performing maintenance.
  • Additional Duties:

    • Assist in setting up and tearing down equipment for meetings or events.
    • Respond to emergency cleaning requests (e.g., spills, accidents).
    • Assist other staff or departments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience in janitorial or maintenance work is preferred.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.

  • Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and techniques.
    • Ability to perform minor repairs.
    • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Work Ethic: Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Work Environment:

  • The work may require the use of cleaning chemicals and working in various indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Safety gear such as gloves or masks may be required for certain tasks.
