Job Description:

Electra is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Market D ata Analyst  to be part of the Commercial Programs team to  support go-to-market strategy, product development and customer engagement. You'll be responsible for leading transportation market analyses, distilling gaps in transportation and assessing levels of passenger demand, both from existing traveler data and heuristics. In this process, you’ll work with prospective and existing customers to develop candidate route networks and assess the economics for such networks. You’ll be exploring new direct air travel routes leveraging various global transportation data sets, to help our customers build new air networks to deliver people and cargo closer to where they need to be.

The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation network analysis and is skilled in large data analysis and visualization.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Identify archetypes of routes that will benefit from Direct Aviation vs. alternate modes of transport

  • Develop prioritized list of candidate routes that maximize value for passengers or cargo

  • Leverage transportation datasets, survey data and heuristics to assess travel potential on selected routes

  • Leverage the performance and operational cost models provided by the aircraft development team to assess operational, regulatory and commercial viability of such routes

  • Work directly with Electra’s customers, partners and third-party stakeholders to identify candidate networks and validate performance and cost assumptions of operations-specific parameters

  • Build out interactive toolset to assess the economics and emissions impact of different route networks with varying assumptions

  • Participate in trade shows and other industry events as needed.

  • Build strong working relationships with customers, partners, local transportation and infrastructure authorities

  • Other Duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Required Skills

  • Prior experience with transportation data analysis and familiarity with available data sets

  • Proven data analytics skills, including data mining, data evaluation, and visualization

  • Ability to develop models simulating customer use cases and operating networks.

  • Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations

  • Strong Python, SQL or Excel skills, with aptitude for learning and integrating new analytics tools well suited to the specific data analysis task. Working knowledge of GitLab.

  • A strong work ethic and ability to independently meet and lead projects and customer engagements.

  • Excellent organization and communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt well to change.

    Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, computer science, economics, or statistics

  • 3+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and expertise mining data as a data analyst

    Additional Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience in the aviation industry, ideally in network planning

  • Familiarity with aviation operating regulations

    Location: Manassas, VA

    Travel:  About 10%, Domestic & International Travel

Salary: Electra's salary range for this position is: $91,000.00- $231,000.00

Our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum range for the Company level overall across all locations & projects and does not necessarily reflect the budgeted amount for this position. Individual pay is based on additional factors, including project budgets, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and/or training, role, level, location, and project.

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in a warehouse/aviation and office environment, which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in handling light materials, boxes, power tools, prototypes, and different materials or equipment. Due to the nature of our business and projects, some fieldwork may be required, working in both indoor and outdoor conditions. You may need to lift up to 50 lbs.
