Job Purpose :

The QA Tester III holds a pivotal lead position, ensuring the delivery of top-notch software products by overseeing and guiding the testing efforts within the Scrum framework. With advanced expertise in software testing methodologies and a knack for leadership, the QA Tester III champions quality across all stages of product development, mentors QA team members, and liaises with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Essential Functions :

• Test Strategy & Design:

• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to grasp product requirements.

• Design detailed test strategies, ensuring comprehensive coverage while optimizing testing efforts.

• Test Execution & Oversight:

• Personally execute critical test scenarios while overseeing the team's test execution across various stages.

• Identify, log, prioritize, and drive the resolution of defects, ensuring thorough documentation.

• Leadership & Mentorship:

• Lead the QA team in daily activities, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

• Mentor junior testers, providing guidance, feedback, and training to enhance their skill sets.

• QA Process & Continuous Improvement:

• Evaluate and refine QA methodologies, introducing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Champion the adoption of new testing tools and technologies that benefit the team and the broader organization.

• Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication:

• Act as the primary QA point of contact for Scrum ceremonies, ensuring QA perspectives are represented.

• Foster close collaboration with developers and other cross-functional teams, ensuring cohesive product development.

• Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain meticulous documentation of test strategies, test results, and defect tracking.

• Provide regular testing insights, metrics, and updates to stakeholders.

• Automation Strategy:

• Guide the development and maintenance of automated test suites.

• Collaborate with developers to integrate tests into the CI/CD process.

Education:

• Four years of college resulting in a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses:

• Any professional certification preferred.

Experience:

• 5-7 years

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance testing, with prior leadership or mentorship experience.

• Proficiency in QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

• In-depth experience with manual and automated testing.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies, especially Scrum.

• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit) is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility :

This position does not have employee direct reports but does serve as a "lead" role for others doing similar work.

Work Environment :

This position is in Chennai / Bangalore / Gurgaon.
