Job Summary

Price Benowitz, LLP is seeking a full-time remote Legal Assistant to support our Family Law practice. This candidate must have a background in accounting, bank documentation and review, bank tracing, forensic accounting, taxes to create bank summaries, review of bank documents, create spreadsheet, and reviews legal documents.  This is an ideal position for someone who likes numbers, can review bank documents and credit card statements and look for what is missing and what else is needed. In addition to financial records review, they will be reviewing discovery materials and outlining what is missing.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare spreadsheets of summaries from review of bank records.

  • Track expenses for private process server to ensure that he/she is paid timely.

  • Track expenses for depositions and transcripts to ensure that they are timely paid.

  • Track daily incoming emails and bring them to the managing attorney’s attention for responses.

  • Track outgoing emails and tag them for responses from clients.

  • Follow up on post judgment tasks -specifically assist paralegal with Qualified Domestic Relations Orders.

  • Keep track of incoming and outgoing subpoenas and download documents and bring to attention. of the managing attorney.

  • Track calendar response date and follow up on responses.

  • Track service of summons packets with private process server and ensure that Affidavit of Service is timely filed by informing managing attorney and managing paralegal.

  • Assist with administrative tasks regarding mediation.

  • Track Qualified Domestic Relations Orders from start to finish.

  • Track return of Domestic Intake Form from new clients.

  • Update new client list weekly.

  • Email legal documents to clients only when given specific instructions to do so.

  • Follow up with former clients regarding posting a review.

    Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be Fluent in English (English C1-C2 level).

  • Excellent writing and reading skills to communicate via email and phone.

  • Accounting or banking background.

  • Document review background.

  • Use of software to redact documents.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of organizational and client information.
