Amazon Sr. Battery Systems Engineer, Ring in Malvern, Pennsylvania

Description

As a Senior Battery Systems Engineer, you will work closely with our business and cross-functional engineering teams to gather requirements, design, and implement new features. You’ll contribute to all aspects of the battery systems development lifecycle, including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing, and operations.

Key job responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and delivery of battery systems and sub-systems

Decompose system and sub-system requirements to the component level

Develop and support verification, validation, and integration strategies, as well as testing from prototype to production

Conduct system and design reviews, failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), and risk assessments

Review technical drawings and production documentation

Perform root cause analysis

Provide support to assembly and testing teams during production

Ensure product conformity to standards and best practices

Drive product safety through analytical, risk-assessed approaches

Lead technically-focused meetings

About the team

The Ring battery team is a group of engineers and technical program managers that focus on building a better end to end battery experience for our Neighbors.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Hawthorne, CA, USA | Malvern, PA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures

  • 5+ years of circuit design experience for a rechargeable battery powered device that has shipped to customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent

  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production

  • Experience with the project management of technical projects

  • 5+ years of experience with battery technology development

  • Experience with testing and qualifying battery packs

  • Cell phone, tablet, e-reader, or EV battery experience

  • Strong analytical skills, including statistical analysis

  • Experience leading the design, build, and deployment of battery products

  • Experience mentoring, leading, or managing junior engineers

  • Proficiency in writing technical documents, project plans, and progress reports

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
