This position is looking for intern candidates with background in materials science especially polymeric materials. They should have knowledge and/or experience with materials characterization testing including but not limited to mechanical and physical tests. The position entails developing a new polymer technology for application as an implant bearing material. This involves evaluating and investigating several competing technologies by doing research, designing studies and doing hands-on testing to determine final results. The position also requires effective communication and presentation skills to lead studies independently and have the ability to communicate project updates, progress and present data effectively.

Majors targeted: Biomedical engineering disciplines including materials engineering and chemical engineering majors. ​

What You Need ​​

• Currently working on completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan to be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer.​

• Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and will be verified during background check in the spring​

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.​

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ​

• Strong interpersonal skills.​

• Ability to exercise independent judgment and proven leadership and business acumen skills. ​

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. ​

• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. ​

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.​

• Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.​

$19 min hourly wage – $33 max hourly wage and either paid corporate housing or a living stipend, dependent upon hiring location.
