What you will do:

As our Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & Financial Compliance , you will be the Internal Controls Process Lead for the Orthopaedics and Spine deployment of SAP. You will partner with multiple functional stakeholders across the Commercial Businesses in addition to stakeholders within our Corporate Controller's Group, Finance Centers, Internal Audit, and External Audit to ensure alignment and proper design & implementation of Internal Controls. This role is a hybrid position which is defined as being close enough to a Stryker facility to attend meetings as needed or be willing to travel to the facility for meetings as needed.

  • Lead the development and implementation of the control environment across Orthopaedics and Spine under SAP, specifically relating to areas including Cycle Counting, Reconciliations, IPE over key reports, Revenue Recognition, Balance Sheet Reviews, amongst other areas

  • Ensure establishment of controls necessary to transition from legacy ERP's to SAP

  • Serve as a key business partner to Divisional Finance, Divisional Operations, SAP deployment team, Business Process Leads and others to define the control structure within SAP

  • Ensure controls and accounting practices under SAP are aligned to US GAAP and Corporate Finance Policies

  • Engage with Internal and External Audit teams and Finance Business Partners, ensuring internal controls are designed in a manner addressing needs of all stakeholders

  • Assess business needs that may be in conflict with internal control requirements, solution new controls that properly ensure oversight of financial records and meet business requirements

  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to support Business Partner needs and the Orthopaedics Controller

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory.

  • 10 years' experience in Accounting including Audit Experience (Big 4 Experience preferred) is needed for a successful candidate.

  • Solid understanding of Sarbanes Oxley, PCAOB Auditing Standards, and US GAAP is mandatory for a successful candidate.

  • Prior knowledge of SAP, AuditBoard and/or Blackline is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to influence cross-functionally

  • Displayed ability to understand multiple points of view across different functions and influence accordingly

  • Strong ability to coordinate action across dispersed workforce

  • Strong written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and lead projects to completion
