Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team of production workers to ensure that manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards

Assist in coordinating the day-to-day activities of a team of production workers to ensure that manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards.

  • Ensure all employees have completed necessary work training

  • Put in work orders, assist with repairing mechanical issues

  • Create and assist with implementation of process improvements

  • Work on the execution of safety improvements

  • Run morning meetings with the team to disseminate information

  • Use excel to create reports of team outputs.

This position is a first line supervisor or manager with primary responsibility for providing guidance, such as delegating work assignments to direct employees. Job requires a good knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts & principles upon which the job is based. The role has little requirement for providing leadership or guidance to others in the workplace, but may work as a team leader in allocating and checking the work of other members of the team.

  • This job typically requires a minimum of 3+ or more years of manufacturing / leadership experience.

  • Ability to use all standard inspection tools (i.e., calipers, micrometers, height gages and comparator) relative to the cell needs.

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.

  • Ability to work in a controlled environment, if applicable.

  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE to include safety shoes, safety glasses, and gloves.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Must be willing and able to work mandatory weekday and weekend overtime hours as required to meet the production needs of the team.

  • Demonstrated time management skills.

  • Ability to learn how to read product drawings and Bill of Material (BOM) documents.

  • Demonstrated computer skills

  • Ability to learn how to use new software platform i.e. SharePoint, Oracle, Access, ect.

  • Ability to utilize continuous improvement tools for root cause problem solving.

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence successfully in a team-based environment that heavily emphasizes quality, performance, cross-training, customer and high accountability.
