About the Role

The Account Support EMEALA team in Madrid supports Elsevier’s sales force and customers across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Reporting to the Director of Account Support EMEALA, you manage a team of 8-12 FTE and oversee offshore support in India. Your team handles order management for new sales and renewals, with an annual contract base of $150-200M. Responsibilities include end-to-end project management of high-value renewal deals (up to $150M) involving sales, agents, customers, and various departments like collections, legal, and the offshore team in India.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of highly educated & skilled staff, inclusive of personal development of team members

  • Leveraging skills and knowledge of the team to assist in commercial activities on top of their day-to-day responsibilities

  • Ensuring sales process is effectively supported. Meeting weekly revenue targets for closure of both renewal and new business and planning renewal pipeline on a monthly basis

  • Developing and communicating renewal project plans with internal stakeholders & customers

  • Driving sales revenue and growth optimization. Proactively delivering account analysis and upsell opportunities to sales. Driving and managing active renewals of small (<20K) deals within negotiation mandates provided by sales

  • Leading role related projects. This includes multiple disciplines outside of reporting lines (Finance, HR IT, Business) and involves reporting to senior management levels

  • Analyzing account support process performance. Initiating actions or projects that deliver structural improvements in processes, systems, organizational capability or measurements. Projects can include members from other disciplines outside of reporting lines

  • Developing structural improvement in team capabilities to improve renewal performance & customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Have MA education level, or equivalent level obtained by working experience

  • Experience in managing a team

  • Display high integrity and honesty. Inspire and motivate others to high performance

  • Lead by example by performing at high levels. Drive for results and communicate expectations clearly

  • Communicate powerfully and prolifically

  • Establish rapport with others on the team and across teams

  • Sound knowledge of IT systems (Siebel, Salesforce ,MS office etc.)

  • Be fluent in English (excellent written and verbal communication)
