U W-MADISON DIV. CONTINUING STUDIES Sustainability Lecturer in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The sustainability lecturer will be a key team member of the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies and the UW Madison Office of Sustainability. The sustainability lecturer will be expected to teach a load of 10 credit hours each fall and spring semester. Courses may include 1) Life Cycle Assessment (3 credits, existing course), 3) Community Service in Sustainability (1 credit, seminar style course). Other sustainability subject areas which the lecturer has experience with will also be considered. This 12-month appointment also includes summer teaching responsibilities of four credits: 1) A general service sustainability course (3 credits, new course), and 2) Community Service in Sustainability (1 credit). Responsibilities will include lecturing, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, writing and grading exams and homework, supervising teaching assistants, and creating new course content. Continuing professional development opportunities will be provided. Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
