Process Development Internships

The Process/Product Development department develops, delivers, and supports robust, cost-effective process/production methods and technologies to meet the needs of client companies focused on producing pre-clinical through Phase III material.

As a Process/Product Development Intern, you will be assisting in the lab by supporting both Process Development and Manufacturing non-GMP activities. This Internship will be focused on developing and onboarding technologies to support process intensification. Interns will be introduced to and expected to gain proficiency with process specific equipment and activities. Overall, a successful Intern will learn the differences between GLP and GMP and their associated documentation and develop the ability to functionally diagram a process.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintains organization and 5S standards in the development and pilot labs

  • Executes and documents 5S audits of laboratory space and update areas as needed or requested

  • Supports large scale purification operations as needed; Prepares buffers as necessary

  • Writes equipment and media SOPs

  • Maintains batch production records and complete all laboratory documentation in clear, accurate language according to SOP

  • General lab cleaning and lab support; Accurately completes routine and preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment

  • Actively participates in team meetings

  • Other duties as assigned

The Candidate

In order to be eligible for the Process/Product Development Internship at Catalent, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

  • Must be an undergraduate/graduate student in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field of study

  • Eligible to legally work in the United States

  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for a 10-12-week period

  • Individual may be required to lift and/or move 0-10 pounds frequently, and occasionally moving and/or lifting up to 50 pounds
