Position Overview The Senior Facilities Engineer will act as a subject matter expert and lead collaboration efforts with internal experts and external partners. This role will provide hands-on engineering support and document changes to existing and new qualified and non-qualified facilities systems in support of infrastructure and production. The Senior Facilities Engineer will lead design that requires exposure to multiple disciplines and act as a system administrator for building automation systems; including, but not limited to, maintaining settings, sequences, alarm management, and developing improvement opportunities. This position will guide system design by quantifying requirements, calculating required capacities, reviewing drawings, and working with third-party designers. This is a hybrid role based out of our Madison, WI office location. Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide engineering support to existing and new qualified and non-qualified building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and production support utilities. Create statements of work, perform engineering calculations to size equipment, solicit and evaluate vendor proposals, manage the procurement and contract process, and oversee technical aspects of installations or modifications to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, building automation, and fire-protection systems based on stakeholder input and in collaboration with internal and external partners. Perform engineering calculations to troubleshoot system operation and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and performance. Maintain building automation systems to ensure performance continually meets environmental requirements and root-cause analysis results in the elimination of system-driven excursions; manage the system to provide meaningful warning of system or equipment failure and eliminate nuisance alarms.
