JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Francis lab is dynamic and focuses on the measuring the patient experience related to surgical complications. The research being done has the potential to transform how we collect and measure patient data at the point of care and in research and will help clinicians and researchers provide precision treatment to patients with conditions affecting quality and quantity of life. This work involves managing a multicenter trial of collaborative centers across the U.S. and working closely with collaborators across the UW campus. Dr. Francis\' lab is part of the Wisconsin Surgical Outcomes Research Program (WiSOR), a vibrant health services research program within the Department of Surgery with approximately 20 faculty and 25 research staff. WiSOR research staff enjoy a collaborative work environment, ample opportunities for professional development, and a hybrid office-remote workplace. Responsibilities: Develops, designs, and conducts one or more research projects and organizes daily operation of projects and specialized research areas to ensure work meets established objectives under moderate supervision. 15% Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results 5% Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area. Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders 20% Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences 20% Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials 10% Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and/or student workers 10% Performs literature reviews and writes reports 20% Serves as project manager, supporting multiple aspects of grant-funded projects under the supervision of the PI, to include tracking study participants, and communicating efficiently with site investigators Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
