WESCO Manager - Environmental Health and Safety in Madison, Wisconsin
As a Manager - Environmental Health and Safety, you will be responsible for providing technical and regulatory expertise to support multiple customers with occupational safety and health compliance needs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; developing and delivering safety training, performing comprehensive safety audits, developing customized written compliance programs, performing industrial hygiene monitoring, conducting programmed safety management services at set time intervals, providing OSHA compliance assistance and managing ongoing customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
Assists in developing new company-initiated projects for deployment in the field
Develops customer safety programs and safe work procedures
Performs hazard assessments
Trains students using a systematic plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, shop sessions, seminars, case studies, field assignments and independent or group projects and practical exercises
Coordinates course logistics, including books, handouts collateral material, samples, certificates, flights, hotels, and car rentals
Establishes and maintains relationship with local regulatory bodies and provide updates to local management
Liaises with the senior sales associate and safety consultant regarding training schedule
Refers sales relating to equipment and service to the senior sales associate and business development team to provide further information, or schedule training
Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management or related field of study
Minimum 3 years of experience in safety related job
Comfortable conducting safety training on a variety of topics (we will assist in learning new topics)
Knowledge of and ability to teach NFPA 70E/Electrical Safety
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
Strong communication skills to develop a cooperative working relationship with customers
Ability to effectively engage customers at all organizational levels
Ability to develop professionally prepared technical reports and proposals
Proficient knowledge of OSHA regulations
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Key trainings classes currently taught: NFPA70E/Electrical Safety; Fall Protection; OSHA 10/30 (general industry and construction); confined space (many others)
Travel: 30 - 50% per month
