J&J MedTech Biomaterials offers a comprehensive portfolio of Bone Graft solutions to help clinicians achieve best in class results for their patients. The Biomaterials portfolio is well positioned to address Orthopedic surgeons' needs to restore, repair and heal their patients.
The Business Development Manager, Biomaterials Commercial Team reports to the Director of Commercial Strategy and is responsible for the achievement of annual sales targets and other related activities within the West Area. This Team operates across the J&J MedTech Family of Orthopedic Company's (Trauma, Spine, CMF) to leverage the full breadth of the J&J MedTech Biomaterials portfolio.
Responsibilities:
· Acquiring new customers, servicing existing customers, managing company assets, sales logistics, and execution of national, regional, and local initiatives.
· Leading and driving RFP strategy to gain market share at large GPO, IDN's and Regional Accounts.
· Utilize data and analytics to create strategic value for customers and acquire market share
· Be able to thrive in a matrixed environment, with multiple collaborators and apply influence to drive value to our customers.
· Ability to translate sophisticated concepts into easy-to-understand formats to increase product knowledge and understanding.
· Lead Professional Education workshops to increase the Biomaterials proficiency of the Field Sales Organization.
· Lead and create Biomaterials presentations for C-suite executives in collaboration with the Field Sales Organization and the Account Management Group.
· Position requires extensive travel within territory with likelihood of weekend work and possibility of overnight stays away from home.
· The Business Development Manager will follow the Sell, Influence, Teach strategy for promotion of Biologic focus products.
· Generate above market growth of the Biomaterials portfolio by influencing Area Vice President's, Contracting partners, Regional Sales Manager's, and Sales Consultants.
· Influence sales professionals for improved preparation & execution of growth tactics and, teaching procedure-based solutions to sales representatives, hospital staff/administration and surgeons.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college OR:
· Associate’s degree plus four (4) years of relevant experience in clinical, hospital, surgical, or related environments)
· M.B.A is preferred, but not required
· The position requires a proven track record to perform in a fast-paced sales environment. It requires critical thinking and the ability to influence peers without direct authority. Top candidates will have extensive sales experience in at least one of the following areas; Bone graft substitutes, Spine, and/or Trauma.
· At least eight (8) years of orthopedic sales experience is preferred
· Ability to operate in a “technical” and professional sales environment.
· A valid driver's license issued in the United States
· Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
· Good overall business insight (market understanding, business planning, ability to build value based customer relationships, results focused).
· Digital literacy is required (must be proficient in MS Office, PowerPoint and Excel).
· Ability to travel approx. 50% is required
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $207,000.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits: - Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
