NORTHSIDE PLANNING COUNCIL Baker/ Production in MADISON, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The production baker is responsible for assisting in the preparation, production and packaging of bakery products according to bakery specification and instructions in the time frames allotted * Bake products for orders according to daily production sheets * Treat and process raw materials and ingredients (flour, oil, sugar, yeast, water, etc...) * Prepare different dough and mixtures according to production recipes under baker supervision * Produce and apply decorations on bakery products * Maintain the work schedule to maximize production efficiencies * Maintain superior quality levels * Package, label product and merchandise products * Manage spoilage, turnovers and inventory of goods and products * Plan and prepare products and set up for the following days/weeks * Keep the cooler and freezer walk-in well organized and products labeled with date and name * Clean and sanitize all equipment used in the baking process * Clean and sanitize work areas * Responsible for maintaining a neat and clean appearance, with respect to food hygiene * Develop excellent communication skills and team cooperation Measure or weigh flour or other ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, fillings, or icings, using scales or graduated containers. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 2 years in commercial kitchen/food production experience Baking process knowledge and expertise Problem solving/Analysis Communication proficiency Ability to work independently Strong organizational and Time management skills Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, bending, lifting and moving bakery utensils and equipment as necessary This job operated in a commercial kitchen environment.
