We are hiring for an Apex Developer for a special project for our client in Madison, WI. The Apex Developer will be working in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) focuses on using Apex programming to customize and extend Salesforce solutions, particularly for e-commerce applications.

Here's an overview of their roles and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Custom Development:

  • Write Apex code to build custom functionalities, integrations, and applications within Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

  • Create custom controllers, triggers, and batch classes to handle business-specific logic.


  • Integrate Salesforce Commerce Cloud with other Salesforce clouds (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) and third-party systems.

  • Use APIs and web services to enable seamless data flow between systems.


  • Customize the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform to meet specific business requirements.

  • Implement custom workflows, validation rules, and page layouts to enhance the user experience.

Data Management:

  • Develop solutions for data migration, data synchronization, and data transformation.

  • Use SOQL and SOSL queries to manage and manipulate data within the Salesforce platform.

Performance Optimization:

  • Optimize Apex code for better performance and scalability.

  • Monitor and debug issues to ensure efficient application performance.

Salesforce Best Practices:

  • Follow Salesforce development best practices and coding standards.

  • Stay updated with the latest Salesforce releases and features to leverage new functionalities.

Testing and Deployment:

  • Write test classes to ensure high code coverage and maintain code quality.

  • Use deployment tools like Change Sets, Ant Migration Tool, or Salesforce DX for deploying Apex code across environments.


  • Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to peers.

Tools and Technologies

Salesforce DX (Developer Experience): For source-driven development and continuous integration.

Salesforce Lightning Platform: To create modern user interfaces and enhance user experiences.

Visual Studio Code with Salesforce Extensions: For code development and debugging.

Salesforce APIs: For integrating Salesforce Commerce Cloud with other applications.

Git: For version control and collaboration.


Skills Required

  • Apex Programming: Strong proficiency in Apex language.

  • SOQL/SOSL: Skills in Salesforce Object Query Language and Salesforce Object Search Language.

  • JavaScript, HTML, CSS: Basic knowledge for front-end customizations.

  • Salesforce Certification: Salesforce Platform Developer I and II certifications are often preferred.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues.
