JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: University Recreation & Wellbeing is searching for a strong manager with a passion for customer service and innovation to join our Marketing & Communications team. We\'ll work together to move Badgers to play hard, get fit, and live well by promoting our programs, services, and facilities to a campus of more than 50,000 people. Your demonstrated strengths in leadership, organization, and strategic thinking will be used to integrate our offerings into the Wisconsin Experience as we chase our vision to build a movement of healthy habits on campus. The Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications, reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing & Communications, plays a pivotal role as a catalyst and central hub for the team\'s activities. In this capacity, the role involves directing and coordinating mission-driven marketing and communications strategies aligned with the division\'s objectives. Responsibilities extend to recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating a team comprising three professional members, as well as providing indirect supervision to 12-15 student employees within the marketing & communications department. The Assistant Director will contribute to the success of divisional corporate sponsorship efforts, oversee the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, and collaborate with professionals and students specializing in communications, graphic design, photography, videography, and outreach. Additionally, the position involves managing annual division plans in collaboration with various departments, such as athletic training, aquatics, fitness, instructional & inclusive programs, member services, operations, scheduling & events, sport programs, and wellbeing. Content development and distribution across multiple platforms on campus and in the greater Madison community require discernment, while continuous assessment of marketing efforts ensures effectiveness. Remaining informed about behavioral and consumer trends is crucial for informed decision-making and goal setting.
