U W-MADISON DIV. CONTINUING STUDIES Assistant Director for Operations in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: International Student Services (ISS) seeks a dynamic and versatile leader to provide oversight of operations for the shared International Services suite. International Services combines support provided by ISS and International Faculty & Staff Services (IFSS), which includes the International Community Center (ICC), Lactation and Family Wellness suite, Multifaith Prayer and Meditation Room, and the front desk and lobby area. In addition to leading the International Services operations on behalf of student and faculty and staff communities, this individual will supervise and cultivate a team of 8-10 student peer advisors committed to inclusive advising practices and engagement opportunities for international students, scholars, faculty, staff, and their accompanying dependents. The peer advising team provides frontline interactive services to all visitors to the International Services suite and administrative and advising support to ISS and IFSS staff. This individual is also a member of the International Leadership Team (ILT) contributing to ISS?s strategic priorities and elevating operation needs and concerns. ILT serves advisor-on-call rotation and provides guidance in complicated immigration advising cases. This role also convenes monthly International Services Leadership Team (ISLT) meetings with assistant, associate, and directors of ISS and IFSS. This position reports to the ISS director and Principal Designated School Official (PDSO). ISS serves over 7,000 F/J nonimmigrant students and over 1,000 alumni on post-completion employment authorization. IFSS serves over 2,000 employees in a variety of employment-based categories (J-1, H-1B, TN, PERM, etc.). We utilize Terra Dotta ISSS batch software to maintain F/J international student compliance and communications. Responsibilities: Manages a program and/or programmatic activities.
