Environmental Laboratories Inc Lab Tech-Entry Level in Madison, Indiana

We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Entry-level Lab Tech whos looking for one of the best working environments in Madison. This new team member will fill a full-time position, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. The ideal candidate will be excited about working in a highly structured environment with regular, predictable business hours and theyll look forward to being part of a busy little team full of great people doing intrinsically good work. This person will be an extremely hard worker, known among friends and family for being highly detail oriented, they'll have a natural curiosity about how things work and they'll appreciate an environment where structure and following procedure are essential for success.

Were especially excited about candidates that have previous experience in a laboratory setting or a highly structured environment where they commonly juggle several different priorities at once. Ultimately, a successful Lab Tech will have the ability to pay attention to all the details, know what it means to be part of a team, and take ownership of all their responsibilities - producing the good analytical data thats integral to helping our clients learn about their water.

Responsibilities:

Analyze pool and drinking water samples being tested for Total Coliform bacteria.

Analyze drinking water and wastewater samples.

Work with pipettes and precise measurements of samples and reagents.

Study/understand/utilize basic laboratory principles.

Safely handle acids and solvents to ensure a safe/healthy work environment.

Work with spreadsheets and tables in Microsoft Excel.

Use a computer/tablet to hand enter analytical results.

Perform multi-step sample extraction/prep to assist Senior Environmental Scientist in analyzing water samples for herbicides and pesticides.

Learn how to plan - build a daily schedule that enables you to juggle multiple analytical methods and changing priorities.

Communicate well with your mentors, leaders and teammates.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
