Job Title: Project Controls Engineer

Job Description

The candidate will initially support active projects and then transition to managing projects directly. They will take the lead on controls engineering projects for the AGV business, managing them from kickoff to installation, including project meetings, design criteria, and team management. They will also need to do some programming in this role as their Controls PE's do programming in the AGV group. They will also have to understand and manage the scope for the controls aspect of the projects. This role requires travel to customer sites for equipment installation, customer interaction, etc. Programs they are supporting are both Ford & Stellantis AGV programs and both are assembly programs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and oversee new equipment electrical control systems based on industry standards and principles.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain project timelines and critical path milestones.

• Work with the engineering team to ensure hardware, software designs, and commissioning are completed within budget.

• Maintain task lists and reports of open items.

• Maintain project design documentation and prepare customer deliverables.

• Ensure the controls engineering process is tracked and followed throughout the project.

• Program and troubleshoot PLC-based equipment.

• Program and troubleshoot HMI (Human Machine Interface) equipment.

• Assist customers and local tradespeople in troubleshooting equipment issues.

• Conduct end-user training on equipment operation.

Travel: Up to 25% to support installation of equipment onsite at clients.
