Job Description:

APPOINTMENT: August 15, 2024

RESPONSIBILITIES: For appointment as Assistant Professor, the successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities including (but not limited to): teaching courses in their area of expertise plus additional Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems courses. The position is expected to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with students and serve on School of Computer Science, college, and/or university committees.

RANK & SALARY: Assistant Professor, 9-month, full-time tenure track appointment. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field. (Although preference is given to candidates with a completed Ph.D. by the appointment start date, ABDs in Computer Science will be considered. ABDs who have not completed the Ph.D. within one year from their start date will receive a terminal contract.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Willingness and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science;
  • Background in database, big data, and/or cybersecurity as documented by teaching experience, graduate field courses, and/or research;
  • Demonstrated willingness to develop and deliver innovative courses.

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.

THE DEPARTMENT: The School of Computer Sciences offers a B.S. and a M.S. in Computer Science, a B.S in Cybersecurity, and a B.S. in Information Systems.
