Down East Community Hospital Emergency Department Manager in Machias, Maine
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, is responsible for management of the Emergency Department. Manage services of age appropriate activities and makes immediate administrative decisions within the scope of his/her responsibility utilizing standards of care, policies and procedures as they pertain to the specific area. May perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Nursing Officer. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and support the mission, vision and values of the organization.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine or Authorization of Practice pending licensure by endorsement, BSN preferred
BCLS
ACLS and PALS within six months of hire
Minimum of five years’ clinical experience in Acute Care Nursing
At least 1 year in a leadership role
Minimum of 2 years Emergency Management experience
Demonstrates clinical proficiency in the age appropriate care of patients using the nursing process
Demonstrates leadership skills with strengths in communications, organization, management of conflict and problem-solving
Ability to function independently
Ability to act rapidly and efficiently in emergency situations
